What should you do when you've tried everything?
In this episode of the Mom Aligned podcast, I share what steps you can take when you've reached a point where you feel like you've tried everything and you still haven't reached your goal or achieved the outcome you desire.
I've tried everything. Have you really? .
When we're building our business and we don't achieve the outcome or goal we've set out for ourselves in the time we wanted to achieve it, it's easy to believe our brain when it offers up the idea that "we've tried everything" and it simply isn't working.
We tend to think that everything our brain offers up is a fact. That it must be true. It certainly feels very true!
Let's quickly clarify the difference between a fact an a thought:
A fact is something that can be proven. If we say this pen in blue, we can actually go to court and everyone would agree that it is blue. If we say something is a fact it is something that everyone (or the majority at least) will agree on.
A thought on the other hand is just a sentence that is running around in our head and it is often the meaning we give to the fact. The story we tell ourselves about the fact. When we say something is beautiful, for example, this is an opinion, a thought. Everyone most definitely won't agree.
I've tried everything is just a thought.
I remember when I just started my business in the online space, I would often feel very discouraged. Saying things like. I’m not getting anywhere with this. I’ve tried and tried and I haven’t made it yet!
I had all these thoughts about my progress and my worth.
The fact however was: I didn’t have any offers out there! I was upset about not making money but I literally didn’t even have a buy button out there. People wouldn’t be able to give me money even if they, by some chance of weird luck, stumbled upon my website and wanted to pay me!
Our brains have the amazing capability of blowing things up! But when we can take a step back and look at the real facts, taking our thoughts out of the equations, then we can actually deal with it from a neutral space!
Here's what you can do when you've tried everything and it still isn't working:
Stop thinking you've tried everything!
When you think I've tried everything...all hope is gone. The bus stops. You're done. That feels miserable, doesn't it?
We think not succeeding is a failure. If this one thing does not work it means I don't know how or I am not cut out for this.
NO! You ONLY fail when you STOP. When you quit. Something not working is just an invitation to go again.
What can you think that opens up the possibilities again? What else can you try that you haven't tried yet?
your aligned action task and takeaway
1. Stop saying and thinking you've tried everything
2. Ask yourself, what else can I try?
3. What are some new aligned action thoughts I can start thinking that will help me to feel open to new possibilities and get creative?

I will figure this out.
