Welcome to episode 85 of the Wildly Aligned Podcast! I'm your host, Ilonka Ras, and today we'll be diving deep into the topic of emotional buffering. 

Emotional buffering is the act of using external things to change how we feel emotionally, often to protect ourselves or others from the impact of negative emotions, stress, or difficult situations. 

Although it provides temporary relief, it's not a long-term solution as it avoids or suppresses emotions rather than processing and addressing them.

In this episode, I share the subtle ways Buffering might show up in your life and business so that you can recognise it and do something about it!

Byron Katie once said, "Allow yourself to experience whatever emotions arise, without judging them or trying to change them. Simply let them be, and they will pass through you, like weather through the sky." 


Creating the life and business we desire as women entrepreneurs requires us to step into the discomfort of our emotions. Buffering is a clue that can help us discover what we are trying to avoid and in the process help us break free from the things that keep us stuck or hold us back from achieving our goals.

Find where you are buffering in your life and business and then consider what you would do and who you would be if you were not afraid of your emotions.
