Welcome to the fourth episode of our five-part series that focuses on the essential systems every service-based entrepreneur requires to achieve a successful business.
Today, we'll be discussing the Delivery System, which is crucial for your business's success. We'll be sharing why this system is essential, what it entails, and most importantly, how to create it for your business.
Our 5 part series starts in episode 73 of the podcast. Be sure to binge from the start so you know who each system integrates with the next.
Here’s a quick recap of the four systems we are covering in this 5 part episode series:
Attraction/ Visibility System
Sales/Conversion System
Delivery System
Cash System
There is a lot of focus on acquiring new customers in the world of growing a successful business. Everyone is teaching how to get more clients, build your email list, increase the conversion numbers on your sales funnels, and although these things do matter, they are not the only important aspect that requires your attention as a business owner.
You will not build a sustainable business if you focus only on acquiring new customers.
In order to build a business that will last, you MUST focus on how you are delivering to your clients.
To ensure you are giving your clients the best possible experience, build trust, and create loyal customers that share your business with all their friends, you need a delivery system.
According to research, acquiring a new customer is 5 to 25 times more expensive than keeping an existing customer! A business study from Bain & Company found that businesses can increase their profits by 25 - 95% by increasing their customer retention by only 5%.
The moral of the story, getting customers in doesn’t mean squat if you cannot deliver what you promised in a way that exceeds their expectations.
Your delivery system needs to be customer centred and guarantee customer success (that is deliver on what you promised) and customer satisfaction.
Get clear on your big promise.
What are people buying from you (in their words)? What is the result or the transformation or the experience you are promising them?
In order to answer this question you must understand the wants and needs of your customers. If you don’t have 100% clarity on it, do a survey and ask them!
What is included in a delivery system:
Every business’ delivery system will be unique and includes all the tools and processes you use to deliver what they paid for.
It will include
the processes and tools you use to deliver your service.
any administrative tasks associated with delivering that service.
shipping if applicable.
any reporting or analysis that needs to be done in order to deliver the service.
To create or extract your delivery system, answer the following questions:
What is your big promise? What are they buying. (Get clear on the result, the transformation, or the experience)
What are all the moving pieces that make it happen?
How can you increase the experience. How can you wow them. There are many tools and software you can use to enhance a customer’s experience. (Tell story about dentist)
Once you have this system in place, delivering a consistent, mindblowing experience for your customers will be effortless and set the foundation for a business that works for you instead of you working for it.
